The goal was to craft a brand identity for Paws and Prose that not only highlights its role as an archive library but also makes it approachable and engaging for a broad audience. This required a balance of seriousness and playfulness, showcasing the library as a place of learning while making it feel warm, inviting, and accessible. The branding, including the logo and visual elements, needed to evoke curiosity, encourage exploration, and represent the seamless blending of history with storytelling.
Our concept for Paws and Prose revolved around the idea of history as a living narrative. Archives are often perceived as cold or formal, but we wanted to challenge that notion by creating a brand identity that feels alive and approachable. The cat holding a book serves as the perfect symbol—playful yet intellectual, inquisitive yet calm. This resonates with the idea that learning can be joyful and immersive. By choosing a monochromatic palette and simple design elements, we allowed the logo and overall visual identity to feel timeless, while maintaining a modern edge that reflects the library’s relevance in today’s world.
We adopted a minimalistic design approach, using clean lines and monochrome tones to create a visually strong yet approachable brand. The cat logo became the focal point, symbolizing curiosity and intelligence. Throughout the branding, we maintained a balance between playfulness and professionalism to ensure the identity felt both credible and engaging. The typographic choices, layout, and supporting visuals were all designed to reflect the library’s mission of making history accessible while preserving its depth. This careful blend of elements results in a visual identity that is memorable, welcoming, and reflective of the narratives waiting to be uncovered within the archives.
